Oklahoma Low Impact Development

Cow Creek Project Pictures

The Cow Creek Stream Restoration and Streambank Stabilization Project is intended to reduce human-accelerated erosion of streambanks through the use of geomorphology modification, in-stream energy dissipation and deflection, and native vegetation.  The central Oklahoma rural/urban interface watershed site will be a good place to research bank erosion processes and examine bank stabilization techniques relevant to Oklahomans.  Erosion of streambanks occurs as a result of erosive forces overcoming erosion-resistant properties of the streambank environment.
